Lava (Stationary)
|
Lava occurs in pools deep underground and occasionally in small lakes and flows (even on the surface). Lava is extremely common in The Nether. Blocks exist in 2 forms: stationary and flowing. Lava blocks cannot be placed, a player has to use a lava bucket. Lava will flow for 3 blocks horizontally and spreads much slower than water. Lava will light up an area, making it usable as a light source. Lava can be used to easily make obsidian by pouring a water bucket on a solid block next to a lava pool. This is also the easiest way to traverse a lava pool. Filling in a lava pool is best done with sand or gravel, since these blocks will fall down a liquid, thus filling the whole pool and not just the top layer. A player that falls into lava will die very quickly (except in Creative Mode). | ||||||||||
