Sponge Blocks are available in Creative Mode. Currently this block has no function or use.

In version 0.0.18a_02, these blocks had the unique property to erase water within a 5x5x5 area. The block was later removed from the game, but became available again in Beta 1.8 Creative Mode. In 1.8 it does not remove water.
